Hi Guys,

Your right it was me who used the spent bullet casings for my
outdoors sensors. I used a clothing button for my in wall sensor
solution.. Here is my original post that was posted to the
HomeVision forum.. If your interested I will try and find the
photos..

"My solution for mounting Dallas DS1820 & DS18S20 Temperature
Sensors

I have been searching for a visually pleasing solution for mounting
the Dallas DS18S20 temperature sensors for a long time.

I think I may have now come up with a solution and I would like to
share it with you just in case you too were struggling with this one!

I have attached two photos of the finished articles. One has a
brass button cap the other is encapsulated in an empty bullet shell
casing.

The button cap version is intended to be mounted flush in a interior
wall with just the brass button cap showing. (Approx size:- length =
one inch, black shaft = quarter of an inch and button head is = half
inch)

The bullet shell is intended to be used outdoors and can be
submerged. (Approx size:- length = one inch, diameter is five
eights)

If you need any further details, just give me a shout!

Steve Jones"
