OT: Epilepsy

Sorry for the OT, but it could be HA related eventually.

Could anyone with (or knows someone with) Epilepsy please answer these
questions off-list for me-

It an attack a loss of control or are they painful as well?
Are any senses increased\painful? Photophobia, touching etc?

The dog is an epileptic. They use the same medicine to treat dogs as
people.
The problem is it makes him fat, aggressive to us and especially other dogs
and very amorous. We are trying to reduce the dose he get but will go with
the full programme if they hurt. We talk to and stroke him when he has an
attack but are we making it hurt more?
