Integration advice

Hi all,

I've finally got SWMBO approval to commence upgrade/integration of
our AV systems and having done a bit of thinking about my options
have got bogged down and would like to get a bit of advice from you
lot if you don't mind.

We currently have three separate parts to our AV setup:

1. a TV with Telewest cable box, and DVD player (in Living Room)
2. a Bose Lifestyle 50 multiroom audio system (main unit in Liv Rm)
3. a computer with all our mp3s and photos on it (in Study)

What we want to achieve are really 2 things:
1. multiroom control of audio sourcing MP3s or internet radio (real
audio stream - SWMBO must-have) from the computer and controlling
the Bose system
2. a more sophisticated living room with PVR and ability to view
photos on the TV

I think there are three difficult bits to this - a) control of the
Bose is known to be bad, however I do believe I can control the Bose
from the computer via a serial link (I have RS232 codes), b) Real
Audio radio streams seem only accessible via SlimServer + AlienBBC,
c) Telewest (Pace) cable boxes use IrDA not normal IR for control
and therefore need something like Red-Eye to interface

My big question therefore is this:
Is there a multiroom remote (RF/WiFi?) that can control the computer
to deliver files to a local media adapter for viewing/listening
whilst being able to be programmed at the computer to interface with
the Bose?

Goes without saying that normal UKHA_D budgetary constraints apply...

Any other comments/recommendations gratefully received.

TIA

Pete
