I've not come across ACE before, but you should be able to replace ACE
with Girder and the touch screens can run NetRemote (PPC and Win32).
BTW both Girder and NetRemote use Lua (www.lua.org) as their scripting
languages.

Girder also supports control via an ordinary IR or X10 RF remote.

What hardware do you want to control using Girder/NetRemote?
