We often install a local DVD for convenience and keep the amp central

no issues to date.

Perhaps you could use a firewire interconnect because, as a rep for a
company that=92s sells plasmas once informed us, "it makes the sound
come
out faster"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're using a plasma, any delay in the sound might give the picture
a chance to catch up (only half joking this time!).

Presumably you'll be using a digital interconnect back to the amp.

Just a quick question really, if I've got an av amp located in the kit
room (about 30' of cable distance away) and a local dvd player, do you
think there would be a noticeable delay / sync in the audio?

Do many people keep a dvd player locally? - I thought it would be nice
to have this if say, a friend comes over with a film to watch, rather
than having to go over to the node0 you can just use the local source..
And if you do, do you have local amp as well?
