Paul,
I have been using Homeseer for years now so it is difficult to remember
acc=
urately, but I would say it is quite straightforward...
I can't see someone with your experience / ability would have any
problems.=
.. It's just getting your head round the concept in the first place...
What makes homeseer fly is getting it to talk with i/p and o/p stuff but
th=
en it is middleware rather than a front end device. X10 is the obvious,
and=
was why Homeseer was created. But, I use VIOMs Temp05 and Relay05 for inte=
rfacing. Xap support opens up many more possibilities as well.=20
It does have 'touchpad' as part of it which gives a reasonable GUI
optimize=
d for touch screens (not as good as Mainlobby) as well as its internal web
=
pages for displaying status, events and plug-ins. One nice thing with V2.x
=
is that 99% of management can be done through a web interface so no need
to=
be at the server or connect via some screen scrape type software.
It's worth spending some time on it. Maybe someone who has looked at (and
u=
sed) Homeseer and then rejected it could be a bit more objective. Not sure
=
there are many people who have given up on it though...
Nigel

Does it take long to get the hang of HomeSeer?
Never really got into it when I tried it before.
Paul.
