There is a automatic change over switch connected to the incoming feed,
one=
side is the grid connection, the other the Genset.=20

Because the genset is relatively large I have not had to fit a maintained

nd non-maintained Distribution board.

The start circuit cuts in immediately grid power fails. It take 5 - 10
seco=
nds for the Generator to start.

As soon as power is generated it is fed to the house.

Once Grid supply is restored a timer starts, if the Grid remains OK for 5
m=
inutes it switches back to grid and shuts down the Genset.

Nigel,

Thats very interesting! I ran a 16.5kva Lister-Petter generator for a
few months while building our house.

Do you have automatic failover when grid power is lost? If so, where
does it connect into your house? Is it just after the meter board?
What happens when power resumes?
