Yes, thanks, I saw that and followed the link to the MS site. The
original (?) bug was in IE 4 although there was another link for Win2k
& XP users with some specific checks to make (registry keys). My
system checked out :-)

I can, however, get another html page to open with
target="_blank"
just not a jpg. I'm in work today (IE 6) and have brought the files
with me here to check and it worked straight off. I also tried one of
Rodney's sites on my home PC (also IE 6 but I haven't compared the
builds) and while he does a bit of php magic, the same basic call is
HREF="image.jpg" target="_blank"... and that works
fine.

I think the target="_blank" might be a bit of a red herring, as
if I
take it out, the image doesn't load in the current browser window
either :-(

My specific problem is nothing happens and I get no error messages of
any kind :-(
