[OT?] NTL Broadband

Was wondering if anyone has experience of ntl broadband please?

I had it installed yesterday and had to install their software on my laptop
to register the line etc

I then found I couldn't vpn out using ntl or my old broadband. I
un-installed their software and after a bit of fiddling I fixed the vpn
problem for both lines.

But at work today my laptop can't get to my slingbox (or a web server I
have
running). But my mobile phone can, which suggests everything at the house
is
working ok. This is using the old broadband line as slingbox doesn't know
about the new line yet. Not sure what else isn't working yet.

Was wondering if anyone knew what changes the ntl software makes (may make)
to a PC please?
