[OT] Cisco 79xx licensing question

  • Subject: [OT] Cisco 79xx licensing question

Hey all,

I have just (re)started my quest towards getting a decent Asterisk
system running (i.e. stable and does what I need!). I have got a
Cisco 7940 IP phone and have recently puchased a 7960. These both
came with the SIP firmware installed.=20=20

However, after reading on the interweb it seems that I need to buy
licenses for these devices... Any idea how much this is likely to cost
me? (Obviously, the cheaper the better, being poor at the moment!).=20
I have seen some people sell a SIP licence for =A3120 but other websites
say that so long as i have a ?servicenet agreement (=A310 - =A312 a year)
a specific licence is not necessary ??!!!

I would appreciate any suggestions as to what I ACTAULLY need and a
reputable place to buy it from is!

Thanks for your help once again!

Regards,

Matt
