Sky to Media Centre connection

Apologies if this is a numpty type question, I am asking for a mate at
work. My world is Comfort and C-Bus, not Sky Boxes and Media Centre!
He is trying to get a decent quality signal out of his Sky box and
into Media Centre for display on his LCD telly. Apparently, results
to date are cr*p. Any suggestions for how best to get this working?
