RE: [SPAM]Re: HV to CBUS

Sorry for the delayed reply Kevin, I've been busy and out and about
this
week.

That sounds fine to me to get the functionality into HV. :)

Even better! :P

TBH the cost is secondary as long as it's not a crazy price, the fact that

I
can do it is of far more importance.

I don't like to rely on a PC for anything absolutely critical, like lights
working, as they have a bad habit of falling over leaving me getting grief
over the failure and desperately trying to put it right. Very low WAF when
it happens and, what with moving to CBUS for more reliability (that's the
excuse to the other half) as well as speed and pretty switches, if it
suddenly grinds to halt because the PC decides not to play the impression
o=
f
it will not be high. Apart from which I'm away a fair bit from home so I'm
not about to put it right quite often.

Apart from which I don't use Homeseer, never liked it, so I use ACE
(ancien=
t
copy, I really must update it) linked to HV software for ancillary tasks
an=
d
TTS, none of which are critical to the operation of lighting or heating
which is all solely hardware controlled and it just works. Except in a
remote area of the house which, for some reason, is an X10 blackspot which
is another reason to move to CBUS.

I may also use RF in a couple of places as it's just far more sensible than
ripping apart the walls, so having that available to me would be
advantageous.

K.
