Davey,
=20
How about a wireless solution?
=20
3g data card or WiFi...
=20
Do you have any friendly neighbours that could provide a back-up WiFi
route=
, maybe you could have a reciprocal arrangement?

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Broadband Backup

I'm currently with BT for my broadband connection.

I was thinking of also getting a Bulldog telephone line and broadband as a
=
backup incase the BT one went belly-up. I did think about NTL as a
complete=
ly different type of connection - cable ... but they don't do it in my
post=
code. ISDN with a fixed IP address was too expensive - =A3250 setup and
=A3=
60 per month. The reason behind wanting this is I lost internet access for
=
three weeks due to account issues and a fault at the local exchange and I
l=
ost work through this.

I'm assuming that I would lose both BT and Bulldog at the sametime if the
l=
ocal exchange went "Bang!" or if Joe Monkey ripped up the
telephone lines w=
ith his JCB but I'd have to live with that.

I guess my questions are ...

Does this give me any resilience or is it a waste of cash ?
Any other Suggestions ?

Thanks

Davey
