[OT] Problem with front panel mic

Hi all,

I have a D915GAV mobo and despite confirming that the front panel
audio audio is correctly plugged in and up to date realtek drivers
whenever I plug either a mic or speakers into the front panel, Windows
fails to detect it.

I have even forced the realtek software to use the front panel to no
avail.

The rear panel is okay but the mic volume is so low it can't be used
(even with boost on).

Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers
Darren
