Hi Marcus
I missed the original post was from yourself. Things are good here thanks,
busy as always trying to invent things that seem to resent being invented
;-)
Looks like you are making good headway. It is a long and trying job that is
for sure.
Anyway, Ignoring the fact that the LD11 will not do so well with
florescents there is a work around for the slow ramp time IIRC. What you
have to do is wire the light switch to a controller and then get the
controller to send the direct on command. I know this can be done as mine
was like this till I changed the command to ramp from off. This should give
you almost instant on bar the X10 command delay. Depending on your
situation this may or may not work. One of the nice things is that you can
apply logic to it for example ramp up in the small hours otherwise instant
on. You can even emulate the cycling if the input was held for a time
depending on the power of your controller.
As for you on/off AD10 problem. You could take another route and for
example use one of those X10 dry contact things to switch a mains relay.
This would separate the X-10 from the relay so you could sound proof the
latter a bit better without heat problems. The down side is you would need
a low voltage source I think for the relay trigger. Have a hunt round. If
nothing else it will be cheaper to fix the relay if it ever goes wrong.

Ian,
How are you doing.. :)
Thanks for the info, sounds like i may have a duff AD10 then.
I agree the the LD11 is nicer.. or at least quieter ! That
"CLUNK"
really gets on
my nerves.. in fact I was think of replacing with a micromodule just to
get a quieter
click.. problem there seems to be they all use conventional switches not
momentary
switches... Grrrrr !
One thing I don't like about the LD11 is the ramp up time.. I would much
prefer a
quicker (say .5 second) ramp up time.. I find that I click the switch as
I enter a room
and have to slightly pause before entering.
