AV senders of this type go into standby without a composite video signal.

Not sure.  My AV Sender has captive RCA/phono leads and came supplied
with an RCA to pass-through SCART adaptor.  Otherwise you will need a
FEMALE SCART to RCA adaptor which are quite hard to find.
