The look and feel is great - however so far Darren is the only person I've
come across yet that it doesn't seem to have hammered the hell out of their
hardware!

I've tried it on three different processors here (an Athlon XP 2400+, an
Athlon XP 2500+ and a P4 2.53GHz) all with 512Mb or 1Gb RAM (both memory
sizes tried on all machines) and on all of them just the OS absolutely
caned
the processor continuously.

Nope - I no longer run it as I found some pretty basic bugs.

In fact, try this. (This was repeatable here on the P4 platform - didn't
try
it on the AMDs.)

Go to your "My Documents" folder, right click in it and choose
"New ->
Folder" ... do you see your new folder appear? No? I didn't. I had to
close
the window and reopen it before I saw the new folder appear in there, even
a
refresh wouldn't pick it up.

(This was absolutely repeatable here on the P4 machine - made no difference
how much memory I had in it or where you were creating the new folder and I
did do a clean reinstall from scratch just to ensure that it wasn't just a
random glitch.)

Phil
