One word - Ubuntu.

I have been dual booting for a few months now, and can do stuff pretty much
equally in each. It's *very* easy to get going, and has a great help
community at www.ubuntuforums.org

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Which LINUX distribution to use ???

Hi All,

I have decided that I need to look seriously at Linux.

My only previous experience has been with Mandrake 9 and 10 and was limited
to installing it on the machine and getting PHP, Apache and MySQL up and
running.

Without wanting to start an OS war or a my Linux is better than your Linux
arguement, what is the preferred flavour of Linux to install these days.

I initially plan on using one of the Mini-ITX boards if possible but seem
to
remember someone having problems with some packages.

I would prefer a version of Linux where a lot of the configuration can be
done via a GUI as my dyslexic fingers dont get on too well with command
line
stuff!!

Finally, can anyone recommend a good book or online reference about Linux
that will allow me to find out how to do some of the things that I
currently
do in Windows.

Thanks

Keith
