only if that ceiling is supposed to be fire rated ie typically below a
loft extension.
In my own case my ceiling was changed to 15mm fire rated plasterboard
and the fire rating had to be reinstated by using fire hoods and fire
blankets across the speakers. My BCO was very helpful and it makes
sense. However I have read on this and other boards that this rule is
not heavily enforced and some BCO's insist on fire hoods etc and some
don't!!
