It's the UK2 firmware. I run it and it stopped me throwing the router
out. When you are downloading the firmware, replace the UK bit with UK2,
e.g. for today's 2600VG firmware its

for the long
distance and
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/download/v2600v_257uk.zip
for the
ordinary

i had a similiar problem (didnt look at logs sorry) where my SNR was low
(and would vary a little bit), when it dropped too low i'd loose my
connection.
Was very frustrating (i also have a vigor 2600). In the end i found my
adsl splitter was at fault, replacing this put the SNR up to 25 from
6-12 and its been stable ever since.
I also believe (but have never tried) theres some code for the 2600 for
people with bad lines (uk only) which may help
