To restart it theres a little pin hole in the back - I had a similar
problem with mine where it just sat there with a green light on... pin
in/out.. fixed :)
I guess (obviously) purely to save you draining your battery?

'wife's Tom Tom 700 failed to restart after she stopped for fuel
yesterday, after a long run - on or off its cradle it just won't
switch-on. The manual isn't less than helpful - anyone know the
procedure to re-start it, please ? And how to disable to way it
switches off whenever she turns the ignition off - 'not sure why the
guys who did the software thought that was a good idea, I can't think of
any circumstance when it would be handy. Grrrrrh !
