ADSL Internet connection problems - any experts out there?

  • Subject: ADSL Internet connection problems - any experts out there?

I am having some problems with my (relatively new) ADSL connection
with
bulldog broadband.

The problem is a little strange, and was hoping someone could point me in
the right direction...

An example is tonight. Rebooted my router and connected fine with 5Mb (ish)
down and 576k up. SNR started at 11.5dB, and LA at 33dB. This would
normally
work absolutely fine, and with this kind of SNR my connection is normally
completely stable. Tonight however within 2 minutes the SNR dropped to 6.5
then the connection dropped. Not sure is this is because of my router
(Draytek Vigor 2600) or their end, but one of the log entries was:

<snip>
158,Feb 21 21:17:58,Vigor,PPP Closed : Remote Terminating (PPPoA)
</snip>

Does this mean the connection was terminated from the exchange end?

The full log (minus user access data) shows the ADSL restarting then me
doing a manual reboot of the router (most of the data means nothing to me)
and can be downloaded from:

http://davidi.no-ip.com/VigorLog.txt

Any help gratefully received.

David
