Just as a note.

I stuck a Sata2 drive in my media pc last month, which has a Sata 1
controller on the motherboard.

I HAD to use the jumper that came with the Sata2 harddrive to force it
into Sata1 mode, otherwise the pc would only boot one time out of three....
