RE: XBMC Guide

Chip:
Pro:
Can be turned off to go on Live
Bios Size limited only to size of replacement chip. Most are between 1
and 2 MB.
Add-ons (LCD, Enable switches, control panel, X3IR) capable.
Con: must be fitted. Solderless is pants.

Soft Mod:
Pro: easy easy easy
Con: you either need to do the mod every time you turn on the box, or
flash the onboard TSOP chip with a new BIOS.
Assuming Flashing, you are limited to 512K(V 1.0 and 1.1 xboxes) or 256K
bioses. X2CL Bios is 512.

Frankly, I never go on Live. So either works for me. If I want an LCD
or IR interface, I use a chip. If not, I use a chip if I have one, and
TSOP flash if I don't.
