A brand new PC just for a Linux firewall seems a bit extreme :)
You could try and join your local freecycle.org group. I see a few *Free*
PC's now and then, but they go quick. A couple of days ago there was even a
free proliant server on the guildford list, with raid, ups etc.
If you do want a new PC try to get one with out the MS OS bundled, that
will
save you a few pounds.
