There's no AD - EDS, who now host our data centres, are a tad pricey,
apparently.

Hey - that's as good a reason as any!

I would also say it leads back towards an appliance - if you introduced a
2K3 server it would make more sense to have it tied into the AD, which no
doubt leads to politik...

A Linux server could sit on the wire and look just like an NT/Win 9x
machine
(which is what most appliances will look like from a network pov).
Personally, I'd go more for a Linux box than a NAS - more flexibility, and
just generally handy to have around, but that's as much a reflection of my
preferences than anythin else.

Ian.

You're right, 20ish people. Exchange is hosted from the US (parent
company), the reason for us going it alone in terms of data storage is just
down to boring company politics. We have access to plenty of servers and
2003 licences if that's the way to go, but I was hoping for more of a
non-technical solution, at least FTTB.

Pete
