Thanks - It found a few bits, but nothing that fixed the problem. 
Nothing
untoward in the registry either.  I can't ping screwfix (or machinemart for
that matter), but every other site pings OK.

Trend Micro's spyware scanner sorted me out last time I had a problem
like this (several other spyware programs including S&D couldn't fix
it)
