I've just bought some of these and like the others here am impressed
how
well they work and how easy they are to set up. As I've started playing
with voip/asterisk what would be really useful is to have POE
incorporated into the homeplug as well. Then you could just plug a voip
phone into any mains socket with no more wiring needed.

You're right actually! I've had a DDAR working - but only if it has
been previously booted using an alternative network connection. I did
investigate briefly, and there seems to be some strangeness with
respect to broadcast packets being sent selectively which I guess
would interfere with the DDAR tftp process? xAP stuff and DHCP seems
to work ok, but Cisco SIP phones also have some problems with the boot
process (but again work fine once up and running) so it's not as
completely straightforward as "broadcast is broken". I also
wonder if
the homeplug interface is true full-duplex, and if that wasn't a
contributory factor. Anyway, as you say, there is a strange kink that
needs to be ironed out by Mr Homeplug at some point...
