I wish someone would look at making X10-type units (dimmers, power
on/off, etc) using Homeplug technology. I'm sure the price of the
circuitry must be reasonbly cheap now. Usual Homeplug 1.0 is 12Mb
(14?), the turbo stuff is 84/85Mb, and the HomeplugAV stuff is just
hitting the streets which is 200Mb.

Imagine cheap TCP/IP controlable alternatives to X10 kit.....
