Re: New Member

Hi Chris,

the course is pretty comprehensive and covers:

Networks
Low voltage wiring
High Voltage
AV install/distribution
Security and access fundamentals
Telecommuniations
Home lighting control
HVAC
Water system management

I did self study for 6 months (lots of books out there based on HTI+),
then did a weeks cram at NTI Leeds followed by exams.

I found it a lot easier becuase of my IT background although HVAC was
a little challenging.

Great for people new to home automation as it covers all those areas,
and explains how they can bind together.

Most of the contributors here would walk the exams without a doubt and
without having to spend =A31000 on the course.

I think it also doubles as Cedia level 1 installer (need to check that
one).

Hope that helps

It is very much "Jack of all Trades, master of none" if that
makes any
sense.

Nigel
