No - you most definitely *MUST NOT* parallel up two dimmer channels to up
the power handling. The only way you can do this with your 8 channel 1A
dimmer pack is to use the two channels separately.

Can you not run a second feed to the lighting or maybe even use a
"three
core and earth" and split out the two separate positives at the far
end?
