If you're interested in a non-hosted solution, I've just started using
http://www.m2server.com which I've got
hooked up to an old Nokia 6110 via
serial cable and a t-mobile PAYG sim on their text-a-lot (can't remember
the
real name) tarrif which is 3p a message.

Great product and reasonable pricing......
