My docs average around 50-60kb when b&w and around 200kb when
colour. I was
always scanning in colour but have recently reverted to b&w only.

I've been thinking of that too,
What's the consensus on the resolution/setting of the scanner for this type
of thing. At the moment I end up with a pdf of about 1mb for each page so I
need to reduce this.
