For the past 3 years I have had my TiVo networked i.e. I can access it
over the web via the CacheCard. I have it set to pickup the guidedata by
network not dial, but have always left the phone connected (basically I
just forgot to unplug it). Last week (during an attempt to rationalise
our phone wires etc) I unplugged the extension that the TiVo is on, and
have noticed that the daily calls now fail, if I plug the line back in
and make a test call then its OK. I think its actually getting the guide
data from the internet since if I enter an invalid phone number it still
gets guide data successfully., its as though it wants to always check
for a dialtone before attempting to contact the mothership. Can anyone
help ?
