Cordless DECT Phones

Apologies in advance if this is a daft question..

I have a set of Motorola DECT phones with answering machine in the house.
The answering machine and its handset and base station is the one wired to
the BT (master) telephone socket. I have 3 other cordless handsets
throughout the house.

I would like to add one other handset but 4 is the limit for this Motorola
set (ME4061).

The room I want to put a handset in does have a phone socket so I could put
an ordinary wired phone in but could I also put a single cordless DECT
phone
in and plug its base station to the BT (extension) socket there? I
appreciate that if this worked I wouldn't be able to transfer calls or
communicate in any way with the other 4 handsets but could I at least still
make and take calls??

Malcolm
