For reasons how about:
1) Just punching down is cheaper - don't need to crimp on plugs for every
cable (150 or so)
2) New cable to new Node0 is solid core rather than stranded - so crimping
plugs isn't a good long-term solution - or am I wrong - can you get plugs
for solid core cable?
3) Time - crimping all those plugs takes longer
4) patch panels are generally deeper than some kind of punch down matrix???
Guessing?
What's the shallowest enclosure you can get that will take patch panels
then?
i.e. In my situation, I want to minimise the space taken up by 150+ cables
- no cabinet. A shallow box might be OK though.
