Re: Home network
If it was me (and it is, because I have a BT Voyager 205), I would
leave
the Voyager in place.
I have mine connected to the home 16 port switch, and it works perfectly
well, serving 5 PCs, TiVo and 2 iPlayers.
I Dont get drop-outs, and if you are, I would suspect they are more down
to the line than the router.
Check out this site for some good info on making the best of the 205:
http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/bt.voyager.205_router.how-to.php
Check your firmware version to make sure you are at the latest version.
Its a personal thing; but I would (and do) avoid uPNP; do you really
want a software tool opening up random ports on your router without
telling you or you knowing its doing it? No, neither do I, so uPNP is
firmly off on my router. Correctly set your DMZ pinholes and port
forwarding rules, and you wont need uPNP. As I said; personal opinion.
