RE: Sky+ IR Control

Hi Dean,

Some of the SKY+ boxes have VERY senstive IR receivers that can be swamped
by a strong IR signal.

I got SKY+ myself so I could try and replicate the problem but sods law
dictated that my Thomson box was fine!

I experimented dropping the IR power and found that I could drastically
reduce it and the box would still respond.

I made an adapter to reduce the IR power and sent it to the person havign
problems and it cured them straight away.

Try putting a resistor of 510 to 1000 ohm in series with the IR emitter and
see if that improves the situation. Alternatively try one of the RF2link
adapters from Pacelink.co.uk

Regards

Keith
