Thanks again for the reply, but I seem to have not explained very well -

=20

I already have an xbox and a Netgear media player, I'm not going to use
the=
m for this. I'm using some clever programs on my PC for music and sound
ou=
tput.

=20

I don't want streaming mp3, control panels, or anything. All I wish to do
=
is to be able to hear what is playing downstairs, upstairs. Volume
control=
will be done by me using the remote on the downstairs or upstairs amp, all=
I need is the signal.

=20

To look at it another way, how do I get sound that is going INTO my
downsta=
irs amp, to also go to the upstairs amp.

=20

I hope someone can help

=20

Thanks

=20

p.s. I've two netgear media players if anyone wants to buy cheap?!

You're almost spoilt for choice here - there's quite a few IP-based
players=
that will do what you want, e.g. (in no particular order)

WExtreamer from Barix / Laser: http://tinyurl.com/ojmc5
Squeezebox: www.slimdevices.com
Netgear MP101: http://www.netgear.com/products/details/MP101.php
Dell DDAR: http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/modules.php?name=3DNews
<http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/modules.php?name=3DNews&file=3Darticle&sid=

&file=3Darticle&sid=3D828
The Dell is long-discontinued and was a re-badged version of the Rio
Receiv=
er (I think that's what it was called). Check eBay for both :-)

There's probably loads more I've missed, but the above seem to be most
popu=
lar on this list.

And, of course, a classic Xbox running Xbox Media Centre (XBMC,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xbmc)

HTH,

Tim.
