Fw: [OT] ADSL Max

  • Subject: Fw: [OT] ADSL Max

I'm about 4 miles from my exchange - 47dB and a s/n of about 15 i
think.
Checker used to say I could only get 1Mb, but I've had 2mb on 2 lines
since moving here.

I've max'ed my Nildram line (left the other line alone for the moment) and
it's been steady at 6mb for about 2 weeks now. No issues here im afraid.
it could be because my s/n is pretty good.

Yeah, the people who haven't had any issues are the ones who can throw
rocks
at their local exchange - in those cases, the amount of line training
required is negligible. It seems to be the people in the outlying areas
that
are hit worst.

It's fair enough if it actually produces a better service - personally, I
think I had a clear idea of what I was going to get on day 2, with the BT
speedcheck account, and the resultant days worth of outage/poor
performance
are just an annoyance.

Ian.

Ps> unless, of course, this is BT's plot to stop everyone from
downloading
half the internet in their first few days ;)

Some people have had problems, others haven't according to adslguide.org.
