RE: BT to RJ45 convertors



Erm... Been a while since I did it.... Not sure I even knew what the
standards were at the time.. I *think* what I did was to use the 4
centre pins on the RJ45 plugs... - the telephone wire in the extensions
I butchered had 4 cores. I know I didn't need them all, but I thought it
best to leave them intact, so it was just a choice of which 4 pins to
use on the RJ45 side.... I think I just picked the middle ones because
that's symmetrical.... And I like symmetry.... - -that's for the
butchered extensions of course... - for punching down the incoming line
to the panel, I used solid core telephone wire, and (I think) the
correct colours for line-A/Line-B
