MCE 2005 Extender

Hi All,
I originally built an MCE 2005 box on the basis that within a few=20
months extenders would be available here in the UK. Well, it's been=20
over 12 months and the only extender authorised and compatible for use=20
with MCE to my knowledge is an Xbox 360.
Am I wrong?
I will not be spending almost =A3275.00 on a noisy little box who's only=20
use will be as an extender.
Can someone confirm that the Xbox is in fact the ONLY extender=20
currently available and if I have any off the shelf alternatives.
