This is very true...

...perhaps it would be easier to build a non-rotating rack but actually
retrofit the house so that it rotates around the rack?

Perhaps have the rack on a gyroscope controlled gimbal so that over the
period of a day then you have access to both the front half and the rear
half of the rack for 12 hours each?
