RE: Thin Client / RDC-RDP

A thin client is a cut down PC. It is not really designed to do all
the work
and processing itself, that is done elsewhere, usually by a server or such
like.

The idea is that you could put a big noisy server somewhere out of the way
doing all the background stuff, like Homeseer or Idratek, file sharing etc,
then have the thin client (with keyboard & mouse etc) somewhere more
accessable like the living room or kitchen etc, where it dosen't take up
much space or generate noise and control all your background services, as
well as surf the web and check your email etc.

The Neoware units I have come with XP running out of the box so you just
turn them on and away you go. Then if you want to install anything, you do
so over the network. Bearing in mind that space is *limited* on the the
flash memory, although they do have one PCI slot (riser required) and
numerous USB ports, so adding a hdd is not impossible.

from a 'Mac ... all assuming, of course, that I could load the Idratek CD

the 'Mac (G4) & download it to the Neo', without having 'XP on the

just RDC using RDP ... ????
