XP - RDC



  Good, good ... 'am looking for a USB-RS232 converter that works
(those
available seem to not work well with applications that are fussy about
details of the UART) ...

Yes, it works and works well.  I use it from my study to access
servers in remote parts of the house.  I use it to access home kit
from work and I use it to help friends having trouble with their PCs.

It works over TCP/IP.  No knowledge of Mac.....
