Generally, when attaching an antenna to a radio, you try and keep the
length of cable as short as possible.  Not only does a long cable
attenuate the signal you transmit, but also the signal you receive.
Whilst it may be a viable solution for getting through a single thick
wall, there's normally a better solution.  If you are running lossy
antenna cable around, you may as well run CAT5, which is far more
flexible.
