Hi Tim,
Ok Here goes.Its not Page fade that your looking at its pure
JavaScript functionality on the menu system. Seems to be quite common
now.
Browse to http://www.tiberone.com/ - Right Click
View Source (where
the menus are located in the page). You'll see a section that starts
with START NAVSTUDIO MENU TAGS and in that section you'll see 3 .js
files referenced. I'm not sure which one or all of them are used to
implement the fading effect but basically these files have been cached
on your PC.
I've got Win XP so I navigate to my Temporary Internet Files dir -
mine is actually C:\Documents and Settings\<username>Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files. Do sort by last access and you'll
see them there. They can then be saved somewhere else and then you can
put em on your Web Server.
However you still have to work out how how to control the settings
etc. For example the drop down list text might be hard coded in the
.js somewhere.
If your not familiar with JavaScript this might be tricky, but as I'm
a software bod it's a breeze.
This also assumes that there is no copyright on this code. The point
is anyway that by analysing the js files you can find the keywords
that create the effect and then google away if copyright is an issue.
