[OT] Automated syncing of FTP files

  • Subject: [OT] Automated syncing of FTP files

I want to store files on an FTP, so that I can access them from
where-ever I
am.

There are many ways for it to work but I am not sure what is the simplest
or
easiest or most fool proof method.

Method 1:

Map the FTP site on to all my computers - work directly off the FTP site
and
just run a backup in one place i.e. at home.
The problem with this is that there maybe pauses if an autosave is needed,
but the files are fairly small so it would be workable. The advantage is
there would be no syncing required, but I would need internet access to
start work.

Method 2:

Get some syncing software that will auto sync at startup and at shutdown.
But I have yet to find something like that! The best one was vice versa,
but
it doesn't do FTP!!!

Method 3:

Something inbuilt to windows XP - are you able to have a briefcase for FTP?

Method 4:

A simple USB key - but I might leave this or forget to take it .. plus can
I
automate it so that when I plug one in it will sync automatically? OR do
you
work directly off the USB key and just backup?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Ho yin
