following various people's leads & recommendations, including Kustom
PCs
& LinITX, I've ended-up looking most seriously at the fanless Hush
Mini-ITX range ... hopefully reliable & economical, as well as quiet
...
and just the thing to run XP-Home 24/7 as the host for Idratek ...

so, before I dash ahead, wondered if anyone has experience of them ...
good & bad ... whatever ??
