HDTV inputs

Is DVI-D (HDCP) input compatible with normal DVI output from a PC ?
I was wondering  about hooking up a PC to a 32" HDTV LCD screen  - not
mine :-(

The other option is to use standard 15 pin VGA which is supported on the
LCD ... but I thought that the presentation (read loads of whizzy graphics)
 may look better if run from the DVI output on the PC's video card.

I must be googling the wrong set of words as I can only find cable
suppliers.. and not a definition.
